Day School students, parents, and faculty are embraced as part of a warm and dynamic community. A spectrum of experiences develop friendships, leadership, character and values. The Community Brit: Rainbow of Respect sets a clear guideline of how our community works together to grow and thrive.

Cool Tools - Building Relationships and Life Skills
The Cool Tools program was developed at UCLA as a way to create clear pathways for children to learn conflict resolution through a common vocabulary, skills and activities. Cool Tools are taught in each grade level and used in the classroom and playground empowering children to resolve conflicts that arise and build self esteem through the process. Students in fifth and sisth grade participate in a specialized training to become Playground Mediators. The Cool Tools advisor oversees the students and provides a step-by-step process for older students to assist younger students on the playground. Peer mediators debrief the experiences with the advisor, learning important leadership and life skills.

Class Community Circle
Students attend weekly "Community Circle" class meetings to discuss participation in community building activities, engage in positive social interactions, develop critical thinking skills and celebrate together as a community. Community Circle is a place where students can share complements or concerns and know that they are in a safe, supportive environment.
