We would like to welcome you to Camp VBS 2012!

We are pleased to offer a variety of day camps for pre-schoolers 2½-5 years (Camp Shelanu), for kids entering grades K-6, a CIT Leadership & Social Action Program for youth entering grades 7-10, and Junior Counselor opportunities for teens entering grades 10-12. Join one of our Camp VBS Day Camps and experience fun-filled activities, friendships, and community. This will be a summer to remember.

Following, please find information about each camp along with links to registration forms and applications. Be sure to register and pay your fees before Monday, April 16th to take advantage of our Early Bird pricing.

Camp Shelanu (Ages 2½-5)
Welcome to a fun-filled summer at Camp Shelanu! Our camp is an exciting, enriching experience, designed for preschoolers. All our activities are created exclusively for 2½-5 year old campers in a safe, supervised atmosphere.

Camp Kef, which means "fun" in Hebrew, is a variety Day Camp that will provide an array of activities and experiences led by our dynamic counselors. From an on-site swimming pool, rock climbing walls, and slippery slides to storytellers and performers, each week there will be a variety of special activities at Camp VBS, including a Super Shabbat Celebration.

Activities Include: • Swimming in our on-site pool • Sports in our gym and new grassy field • Cooking • Arts and Crafts • Music • Maccabiah Games/Color War • Weekly Field Trips (Thursdays) • Special Programs and guests

On-Site Swimming Pool • Indoor Gym • Grass Field Group lessons and free swim during camp hours! Campers will swim in our full size pool, supervised by certified WSI lifeguards and instructors. Campers will also enjoy a summer of fun playing basketball, volleyball, and sports galore in our indoor sports facility, The Shalom Dome, and our brand new outdoor field.

SPECIALTY CAMPS - GRADES 4-6 (Choose either a Specialty Camp or Camp Kef for these weeks) DATE June 18-22 (Robotics) June 25-29 & July 23-27 (Sports Specialty Camp)

SURF CAMP - GRADES 4 & UP Surf Camp will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday for grades 4 and up and will depart from VBS at 8:30 AM and return to VBS at 3:30 PM. Wetsuit, board, professional instruction, and a whole lot of fun provided!

The Camp VBS CIT Leadership Program, led by Rabbi Avi Taff, is designed to foster leadership for youth entering grades 7-9. Counselors-in-Training will participate in leadership training and gain hands-on experience assisting Camp Kef campers. As part of the leadership training, CIT's will actively participate in a weekly social action project. CIT's will leave camp once a week to volunteer at various organizations around the greater Los Angeles Area and will help implement social action programs for campers. CIT's will also receive community service hours. The fee to participate in the CIT Program is $200/week. All applicants will be contacted for an interview. Junior Counselors (Grades 10-12)
Junior counselor opportunities are available for students entering grades 10-12. Junior Counselors will receive  community service credit as well as a stipend. To apply for a Junior Counselor position, please contact Coach Sam (coachsam@vbsds.org) by Friday, May, 25, 2012.
