Camp Kef, which means "fun" in Hebrew, is a variety Day Camp for Grades K-6 providing an array of activities and experiences led by our dynamic counselors. Each week there will be a variety of special activities at Camp VBS, including a Super Shabbat Celebration.
Lunch is provided to all campers each Friday when camp is in session.

    Free swim during camp hours! Campers will swim in our full size pool, supervised by certified WSI lifeguards and instructors.

    Campers will also enjoy a summer of fun playing basketball, volleyball, and sports galore in our BRAND NEW indoor sports facility, The Howard and Irene Levine Community Center.

    Campers must bring a dairy sack lunch each day except on Fridays. Lunch will be provided every Friday.

  • Hot Lunch Program

    New this summer we are excited to offer a hot lunch program for our campers for each day of camp! Monday through Thursday you will have the option of ordering lunch at $8.50 per day. Friday lunch is already included in the cost of camp. Orders must be placed by the Wednesday prior to the week you are ordering for (no same day orders). 

    The menu is as follows:
    • Monday- teriyaki chicken, rice, steamed broccoli, Asian crunch salad and fruit
    • Tuesday- chicken tenders, tater-tots, carrots, cucumbers and fruit
    • Wednesday - pizza/garden salad with ranch dressing
    • Thursday - sack lunch-turkey sandwich or bagel with vegan cream cheese, whole fruit, and chips

  • Specialty Camps at Camp Kef

    Camp Kef's Specialty Camps For Summer 2019
    (2nd - 6th grades only)

    Ceramics Grades 2nd - 6th: Week 1 & 2 (6/17 - 6/28)
    Children will work on ceramic projects which use their imagination and develop their creativity, while building their self confidence. With an experienced and caring teacher, the campers will learn different techniques for making projects out of clay and learn how to decorate, paint, and personalize their artwork. No experience necessary!
    Basketball Grades 2nd - 6th: Week 4 & 5 (7/8 – 7/19),
    The Camp Kef Basketball specialty camp is a high-intensity, drill based camp that focuses on not only bettering our players skill sets on the court but also building character and confidence off the court. Our camp will strengthen your athletes mentality while boosting their confidence to become more skilled players. Our camp provides a focused, fun learning environment that cannot be rivaled!
    Invention Convention Grades 2nd - 6th: Week 6 (7/22 – 7/26)
    Invent something for good. Use tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, circuits, LED’s, and hand tools to invent something that makes the world a better place. We will learn 3D Modeling basics, Lego EV3 coding, Circuits and Little Bits.
    Minecraft Grades 2nd-6th: Week 7 (7/29 – 8/2)
    Use creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking to design worlds and experiment with coding basics and world design in Minecraft.
    Game Design Grades 2nd - 6th: Week 8 (8/5 - 8/9)
    Create your own games using scratch and make them interactive with Makey-Makey. Experienced game designers will be able to explore Unity to design 3D games and environments to be experienced in Virtual Reality.

    Sports Specialty 2nd-6th: Week 9 & 10 (8/12 – 8/23)
    Boys will be working on their flag football skills and girls will work on their basketball skills.

    *Please note: All specialty camps are weekly options only. They do include the field trip on the Thursday of that week.
  • Overnight at Camp Ramah: Grades 4-6 (Date TBD)

    Join friends from Camp VBS for "A day in the life of a Ramah camper." Campers will spend the day participating in a variety of Camp Ramah programs including arts and crafts, sports, Israeli dance, swimming, water slides and will have an overnight in the Camp Ramah Tree House.

  • CIT Leadership Program (Grades 8-9)

    The  Camp VBS CIT Leadership Program is designed to foster leadership skills for youth entering grades 8 and 9. Counselors-in-Training will participate in leadership training, and gain hands-on experience assisting Camp Kef campers. As part of the leadership training, CITs will actively participate in a weekly social action project. 

    CIT applications must be received by March 16, 2019. 

    Cost: The CIT program is $200 per week, and CITs will be awarded community service hours.

  • Junior Counselors (Grades 10-12)

    Junior counselor opportunities are available for students entering grades 10-12. Junior Counselors will receive community service credit as well as a stipend. Apply online for a Junior Counselor position by Friday, March 16. If you have any questions, please contact Rabbi Avi (

    Welcome to a fun-filled summer at Camp Shelanu! Our camp is an exciting, enriching experience, designed for preschoolers. All our activities are created exclusively for 2-5 year old campers in a safe, supervised atmosphere.   • Camp Shelanu CIT Program (Ages 12-18)

    Camp Shelanu offers a CIT program for youths 12-18 years of age. CITs will assist in activities, gain valuable leadership and job training experience, enjoy social interaction with their peers, and have the opportunity to plan camp activities.
