Application Process:

We are currently accepting online applications for the 2027-2028 school year for grades K-6, as well as applications for midyear transfer students for the 2026-2027 school year.

Step 1: COMPLETE AN INQUIRY

To begin, please submit an inquiry form. Once your inquiry has been processed, our Admissions Department will contact you to schedule a visit.

Step 2: VISIT

We encourage three touch points when getting to know us. Here are a few options:
  • Schedule a private tour by contacting Carrie McSherry, Director of Admissions, at 818.530.4072 or cmcsherry@vbsds.org. 

  • Attend one of our Showcases
  • Attend a Prospective Family Coffee & Conversation

Step 3: APPLY

Applications are submitted online. Click here to create your Lions Log In account and apply. Please note: You can log out and return to complete the application without losing data before submitting the final version.

If you are applying for tuition assistance, we will now be using Clarity. More information and the application link will be available soon.

Step 4: SUBMIT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

The following supporting documents must be received by our admissions office no later than Friday, January 8, 2027. Please either print out these forms and submit them to your current school, or you can send them electronically via the admissions checklist.


Step 5: IN-PERSON PARENT INTERVIEW

After your application has been received, we will contact you to arrange an in-person parent interview with Carrie McSherry, Director of Admissions. A separate visit will be scheduled for your child.

Step 6: STUDENT ASSESSMENT

Kindergarten Applicants: Save the date for one of the following Walking in My Kinder Shoes programs
  • January 10, 2027: Sibling and Staff Applicants
  • February 21, 2027: New Family Applicants
Grades 1-6 Applicants: The Admissions Department will contact you to schedule individual assessments.

Step 7: DECISION

Admission decisions will be emailed on Friday, March 12, 2027 at 5:00pm. If applicable, tuition assistance grants will also be emailed at this time. 

Step 8: ENROLLMENT

To enroll your child at VBS Day School, your e-signed contract and deposit are due no later than Friday, March 19, 2027.
